The Berlin short film festival is designed around the neighbourhoods Sonnen- allee, Mediaspree and Kottbusser Tor. They are symbolically for the hot spots in Berlin. kiezkieken wants to link art and life and to provide a platform for a cultural exchange. The presentation of the films on the spot encourages interaction between films and settings, locals and film makers. To make the programme even more interesting, various guests contribute to the festival: film makers from Berlin as well as a fine selection of local bands and djs.

The winners of kiezkieken 2009 are:
